The January transfer window will soon be closed.

There is less than a week of the winter window to go and Chelsea are still waiting to dip their toe into the market.

The Blues did have a transfer embargo, but that was lifted by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

And they have been linked with plenty of players so far this January.

One of those they’ve been heavily linked to is Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani, who wants to leave Paris Saint-Germain.

But will he be making a move to London this month?

Chelsea join United in race for Cavani

Chelsea and Manchester United have both reportedly made contact with Edinson Cavani about a free transfer at the end of the season.

The striker – who turns 33 in February – is coming to the end of his Paris Saint-Germain deal, and has apparently agreed terms on a potential move to Atletico Madrid.

However, L’Equipe report that Cavani is yet to sign the deal, and United have made initial contact with the striker’s representatives, while Chelsea are said to have made an opening formal enquiry.

Cavani is said to have a meeting with PSG sporting director Leonardo coming up, and could even leave the club this month depending on PSG’s flexibility and the offers they receive.
