Chelsea are in FA Cup action this evening .

They face Championship side Hull City in the fourth round as a reward for beating Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge in round three as the 2018 winners aim to regain the trophy.

After two disappointing results, both involving conceding late goals against Newcastle United and Arsenal, the Blues and Frank Lampard may be happy to have a break from Premier League action.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is stepping up his recovery from injury.

Images emerged of the midfielder taking part in training with the first-team squad ahead of the FA Cup fourth round tie with the Tigers.

Posting on their Twitter account, the Blues shared a picture of the England international taking part in the session.

It is unknown if Loftus-Cheek will be available to make the squad for the cup game, Chelsea are however unlikely to rush the player back after so long on the sidelines.

He made 40 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring 10 goals and providing five assists.

Christian Pulisic missed Chelsea’s routine 2-0 win against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup third round because of an unspecified injury sustained in training, and has since missed every game.

Frank Lampard confirmed the issue to the club’s in-house TV channel but did not specify what the injury was or the severity.

The Chelsea boss gave more information in his pre-match press conference: “Christian Pulisic is out and he will be out for a few weeks,” he said.
