Abraham, James, Kante, Giroud – Latest Chelsea injury news and expected return dates

Chelsea made it safely through to the fifth round of the FA Cup in Saturday’s evening kick off.

Goals from Michy Batshuayi and Fikayo Tomori helped the Blues record a 2-1 victory over Championship side Hull City to put themselves in the hat for the next round.

Batshuayi struck in just the sixth minute of the match to put Chelsea in control early, but Frank Lampard’s men had to wait until the 64th minute to double their lead when Tomori turned in a free kick from Ross Barkley.

The Tigers made it a nervy finish thanks to Kamil Grosicki’s deflected free kick with 12 minutes left to play, but Chelsea were able to see the game out to make it safely through to the next stage.

Next up for the Blues is a big Premier League game away at third placed Leicester City, Lampard’s men have a free week to be able to prepare for the game, but what is the injury situation looking like?

Take a look at the latest from the treatment room at Cobham.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is stepping up his recovery from injury.

Images emerged of the midfielder taking part in training with the first-team squad ahead of the FA Cup fourth round tie with the Tigers.

Posting on their Twitter account, the Blues shared a picture of the England international taking part in the session.

It is unknown if Loftus-Cheek will be available to make the squad for the cup game, Chelsea are however unlikely to rush the player back after so long on the sidelines.

Unsurprisingly, he wasn’t named in the squad for the FA Cup clash.

He made 40 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring 10 goals and providing five assists.
