Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is desperate to bring in another attacking recruit in the coming days, says former Liverpool star Danny Murphy.
The Blues boss aimed a not so subtle message to the Stamford Bridge board after the 2-1 win against Hull in the FA Cup.
Lampard’s side struggled to finish off the Championship outfit despite racing into a two-goal lead.
And the Chelsea chief was downbeat speaking to the media after the game, where he admitted he wants new arrivals before the end of the January window.
Murphy picked up on Lampard’s demeanour and thinks the former midfielder is crying out for another forward.
“I think Frank sat on the fence about wanting a striker,” he joked on BBC’s Match of the Day.
“He is desperate to get someone in, you can tell. But I don’t blame him.
“The amount of chances they make in a game is unbelievable.
Fellow pundit Karen Carney added: “It’s the same story every week isn’t it.

“They’re keeping teams in it, the other teams are getting confidence.
“And if you’ve got someone that can put the ball in the back of the net, then it just eradicates all the stress and pressure.
“So it’s the same story for Chelsea every week.”
When asked about transfers after the FA Cup victory, Lampard said: “There is no movement to speak of now.

“We got a punishment in the summer and it is meant to hurt you. We lost one of the biggest players in our history in Eden Hazard.
