It is the final week of the January transfer window – and Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard is hoping to welcome some new arrivals at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues have only signed 16-year-old striker Bryan Fiabema so far this month, with Lampard delivering an honest assessment of what he feels Chelsea need on and off the field to achieve their aims this season.
Speaking in an interview with BT Sport after Chelsea’s win at Hull City in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday, Lampard voiced his frustration at the Blues’ continued profligacy in front of goal, and mistakes that have allowed opponents to score against them in recent weeks.
He stressed the need to add to his squad, and it was a message that has attracted plenty of responses from fans.

But will Chelsea strengthen in the final few days of the window?
Below, we look at the latest Chelsea news.
Edinson Cavani decision
The future of Edinson Cavani continues to be the subject of much speculation going into the final few days of the January transfer window.
The Uruguayan is currently being chased by Chelsea, Manchester United and Atletico Madrid, with the trio all keen to secure the 32-year-old’s services this month.
Recent reports suggested that Cavani could join the Blues as Atletico are struggling to comply with La Liga’s salary cap.

He was left out of Paris Saint-Germain’s squad for the 2-0 win against Lille last night, and PSG boss Thomas Tuchel has explained why.
“It’s a little bit the same thing with Edi,” Tuchel said, speaking amid the speculation surrounding the forward’s future.
“He has been training with us for the past few days, but the situation is not clear for him either. And for that, he will not be available.”
