Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City are among the teams awaiting their FA Cup fate with the fifth round draw to be held this evening.
Fellow Premier League giants Liverpool and Arsenal will also be involved in the draw though their path to the next round is not guaranteed.
Liverpool were taken to a replay by League One Shrewsbury on Sunday while the Gunners face Bournemouth in their fourth round tie tonight.
Portsmouth are the lowest ranked team definitely in the next round of the famous competition with the 2008 winners dispatching Barnsley on Saturday.
“We want to do well in every competition, try to avoid injuries if possible and build momentum to give our supporters faith we can have a big end to the season,” Pompey boss Kenny Jackett said.
“We had the right attitude,. “I felt there would be goals in the game and keeping a clean sheet would be tough but that we could create chances going to the other way and take the game to the opposition.
“It worked out and once the first goal went in we found a bit of confidence and created other chances.”

Manchester United progressed with a convincing 6-0 win at League One outfit Tranmere Rovers on Sunday and go into tonight’s draw.
On the draw, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said: “We might get a home game [five of United’s last six ties have been away], you never know!
“I don’t want to jinx anything, but let’s wait for the draw.”
