Arsenal and Chelsea fans have pre-emptively labelled Olivier Giroud ‘the biggest snake ever’ after reports emerged that the striker is holding talks with London rivals Tottenham over a January transfer.
Giroud and Chelsea had been in negotiations with Serie A giants Inter over a potential deal, but the club were only prepared to offer him a six month contract.
The former Arsenal ace is concerned that a lack of playing time at Stamford Bridge under Frank Lampard is significantly hindering his chances of making the France squad for Euro 2020.
And according to Italian transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio, he now has another more lucrative option on the table from Spurs.
“Breaking | Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with Olivier Giroud & are offering him a 1.5 year contract – José Mourinho wants him now, according to @DiMarzio ,” tweeted Get French Football News.
With talisman Harry Kane out of action for the foreseeable future with a hamstring injury, Giroud would presumably be confident of leading the line for Spurs in his absence.
But Arsenal fans are outraged over the potential move, with many of them still holding affection for the 33-year-old despite his Chelsea move.

Giroud scored 105 goals in 253 appearances for the Gunners, winning three FA Cups with the Emirates outfit.
And even though he scored against them for Chelsea in last season’s Europa League final, the thought of seeing the World Cup winner in a Tottenham shirt seems to be the final straw for many Arsenal supporters.
“If he goes there he’s a disgrace and will be dead to all at AFC,” commented on fuming Gooner.
“If he goes he’ll be forever remembered as the biggest snake ever,” raged another. “‘Legacy’ in the mud where it belongs.”
