Behind the scenes at Chelsea: Last minute transfer plans, Cavani, Jovic, Piatek and Loftus-Cheek

Jovic a short-term option

There are issues with all three of the options that are being linked with the Blues right now.

Edinson Cavani might well be the front runner, but with his high wage demands it could be a tough one to get through. A loan deal could be something the Blues want, but the Uruguayan is looking for a permanent exit from PSG and an 18-month deal could be a risk.

Meanwhile, Krzysztof Piatek is being chased by Spurs and they are leading the way in signing him this month, with Harry Kane out for the majority of the season.

Luka Jovic, however, could be a really good option for the Blues on loan for the rest of the season. It could be a slight risk, with Jovic only 22 and while he had an excellent season with Eintracht Frankfurt he’s not yet proven. But he certainly has a lot of talent.
