Tariq Lamptey has reportedly “shocked” FrankLampard and Chelsea by choosing to sign for Brighton rather than sign the new deal on the table at Chelsea.
That’s according to Goal.com, who claim that the talented right sided player think his best option isn’t staying at the club where he came through the academy, or even joining one of the big European sides who are interested in getting him on a pre-contract for this summer.
Instead he will make a sub £10m move to the South Coast to play for Graham Potter’s side immediately. It could be a very smart move for him, forgoing bigger teams in favour of regular minuetes at a smaller side still competing in a top league.
He was just getting his breakthrough with Chelsea and we’re gutted he’s getting away cheap.
Still you can’t have everything – and we’ve already got Reece James locking down that position.
