Edinson Cavani could decide to snub Premier League interest in favour of a move to play in Major League Soccer.
Chelsea and Manchester United are both on the lookout for a striker as we near the final stages of the summer transfer window with both clubs aiming for Champions League qualification.
The 32-year-old striker has slipped behind Mauro Icardi in the pecking order and requested a move earlier his month, but is yet to reach a deal with any possible suitors.
La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid is another possible destination, but David Beckham’s Inter Miami have now entered the race.
The former England skipper is part owner of the new MLS side and he is keen to sign some notable stars before their season starts next month.
Spanish news outlet AS have now claimed that the franchise have made the Uruguay striker their main target, but Atletico remain the favourites.
Cavani has scored 198 goals in 292 games since leaving Napoli for the French capital in 2013, with boss Thomas Tuchel keen for him to stay.
The former Borussia Dortmund boss said: “He’s very professional, in a good state of mind in the locker room, he gives a good energy to the team.
“But right now, I don’t have much playing time to give him.”
