Chelsea fans name the two transfers Frank Lampard must make on deadline day

It has been a frustrating month for Chelsea as they have tried to add to their squad during the January transfer window.

The Blues have been linked with a host of players, but have not yet bought a player into Stamford Bridge.

A transfer ban during the summer means that only Christian Pulisic, who was officially signed last January, has been the only new addition to the squad over the past year.

It has however given Frank Lampard the chance to give young players such as Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori a chance for regular game time in the first team.

However, Chelsea have been searching for a striker to take the burden off of top scorer Abraham throughout January, but have so far not had any luck in getting a deal over the line.

With deadline day now upon us, Chelsea have a matter of hours to make a move should they wish to add to their squad ahead of the end-of-season running, where they will be fighting to finish in the top four places in the Premier League.

As the day began, Blues fans took to social media to say the signings they would like to see arrive at Stamford Bridge today, with most in agreement.

Mertens and Cavani have arose as primary targets for Lampard in his search for a striker, and should they be successful in bringing a new forward to the club during deadline day then Olivier Giroud could be moved on.

Tottenham, Newcastle and Inter have all been linked with moves for the French striker.

However, he will only move on from Stamford Bridge should Chelsea get a replacement in.
