Transfer deadline day is upon us and it appears any moves that Chelsea are going to do will be at the last minute.
Frank Lampard has been wanting a forward throughout the whole of the transfer window, however the Blues are yet to deliver.
It has come as a frustration to many Chelsea fans, especially after the club worked hard to get the transfer ban reduced to just one window.

As far as attacking options go, Mertens would be the one who fits Lampard’s profile the most as a short-term fix.
The 32-year-old has the ability to play in four positions around the front line, presses well and has a decent goalscoring record.
With his contract running out at Napoli in the summer, the Belgian is certainly the cheapest option as well and his future is up in the air.
The issue though is the negotiations with such a little amount of time to go and president Aurelio De Laurentiis not known for being the easiest to deal with.
Mertens would be happy with the move and Napoli might be able to let him go for around the €10million mark, but it could be a tough one to secure.
