Chelsea team vs Leicester confirmed: Willy Caballero, Tammy Abraham and Pedro start; Kepa dropped

Willy Caballero starts in goal for Chelsea away to Leicester City in a surprise line-up that also sees Pedro start on the wing in place of Willian.

Frank Lampard has taken the decision to drop Kepa Arizzabalaga, the out of form goalkeeper, for the veteran stopper who did well in last weekend’s FA Cup win away to Hull City.

In a massive boost for the Blues Tammy Abraham has been passed fit following a late test while Reece James will also start at right back.

Christian Pulisic was not part of the side that travelled to the East Midlands, however, while Olivier Giroud is also not part of the matchday 18 after the disappointment of failing to secure a move away from the club in the January transfer window.

On the eve of this game Lampard had said that, owing to their inability to strengthen in the transfer window, Chelsea are now underdogs in the race for the top four.

Lampard said: “Now what remains to be seen will be seen and from my view – and this is not to talk down ourselves because we’re six points clear in fourth – now we become probably the underdogs and the outsiders to some point because the teams around us have strengthened. It’s a fact.”
