Chelsea star Marcos Alonso has fans in stitches for spotting Premier League error

Chelsea star Marcos Alonso had fans in stitches as he called out the Premier League for their statistical gaffe.

The Spaniard was on the bench for the Blues’ 2-2 draw against Leicester on Saturday.

Frank Lampard’s side nearly suffered defeat after Harvey Barnes and Ben Chiwell scored.

But it was defender Antonio Rudiger who salvaged a point with two headers at the King Power Stadium.

The German’s strikes were his first goals of the season for the London side.

And he was praised for his efforts on Twitter by the Premier League.

Writing on their official Twitter account, they wrote: “The first defender to score a Premier League brace for Chelsea since John Terry in April 2013.”
