What Antonio Rudiger is ‘always telling’ Mason Mount » Chelsea News

This season has seen the start of the new winter break in the Premier League and as a result, Chelsea do not have a match until the 17th of February when they face Manchester United.

It actually comes at a good time for Frank Lampard’s team, who are struggling to gain any sort of momentum in the league of late and have been thankful at those below them doing even worse.

However, Tottenham put the pressure on yesterday with a 2-0 home win against Manchester City, and Chelsea’s gap all of a sudden isn’t as comfortable.

Some of the players will take this time to recharge their batteries and come back stronger ready to attack the second half of the season, and how they need to.

One player who has looked rather tired of late is Mason Mount. The 21-year old has pretty much played the majority of matches for Lampard this season, but looks fatigued and a bit out of form.

That didn’t stop him grabbing two fine set piece assists in the 2-2 draw against Leicester City at the weekend though, and Antonio Rudiger the one on the end of them.

As reported by Goal, Mount reveals that Rudiger has been asking him to deliver those types of deliveries for him to finish!

Mount said:

“Making an impact, trying to get goals and get assists. For me to get two was something I was pleased with. Two for Rudi as well so we have that connection there.

“He is always telling me to put good balls into the box and this is the game that it worked in and paid off. He got on the end of the two balls so I am pleased with that. The main thing is that we ended up having a point. Now we look back and see where we did go wrong and where we have done well.”
