Kepa’s situation at Chelsea is increasingly precarious.
After arriving with as much good will as is possible as a world record transfer in his position, the Spaniard has eroded a lot of that over time with his bad performances this season and his shocking behavior in the Carabao Cup final last season.
We’ve already written about the reports on Spanish radio station Cadena Cope that say the keeper is on his way out at Chelsea; but now there’s a new wrinkle to add to the mix.
Don Balon now say that the keeper is a target for… Real Madrid.
That’s right, the team who bought our goalkeeper and forced us to go for Kepa in the first place – having turned down the chance to sign the Basque stopper earlier that year.
What a world we would be living in if Real end up with both of them, with Kepa sitting on the bench backing up Courtois.
It would be utterly humiliating for Chelsea, so luckily it sounds incredibly unlikely. Of course we will likely take any decent offer for him come the summer – it’s just hard to imagine Madrid being one of the teams offering.
