Manchester United and Chelsea will lock horns for Moussa Dembele in the summer.
Both Premier League heavyweights are already planning end of season overhauls.
And according to The Mirror , Lyon forward Dembele is firmly on the agenda for both clubs.
Lampard wanted a new striker through the door in January.
However, the Blues failed to draft in either Edison Cavani or Dries Mertens – who were both on the the club’s shortlist.
Lampard is a huge admirer of Dembele but he’ll face stiff competition for his services.
United have their own issues up top and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also jockeying for position.
The Norwegian snapped up Odion Ighalo on loan from Shanghai Greenland Shenhua.
But at 30 years old he’s not viewed as a long-term solution.
Dembele, 23, has now scored 38 goals in 79 games for Lyon since moving to the Ligue 1 side in 2018.
Another option for United is Jadon Sancho following his impressive exploits at Borussia Dortmund.
Liverpool have also been linked with the England international, but former Anfield favourite Steve McManaman thinks he’ll favour either Chelsea or United.

“I don’t think there’s any problem with that.
“The other thing is the cost implications; how much is he going to cost?
“No doubt, he’s an extremely bright prospect, he’s doing really well in Dortmund, he plays regularly and he’s a star there.
“Whether Liverpool would go for him now is something that I don’t know and if he was available, he’d command big money and I presume there are a number of clubs that would go for him.”
