Chelsea confirm Champions League squad ahead of Bayern Munich clash

Chelsea have made two minor changes to their squad to face Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League round of sixteen.

Young defender Marc Guehi drops out after joining Championship side Swansea City on loan during last month’s transfer window, while midfielder George McEachran is also left out having moved on a temporary basis to Dutch second-tier outfit SC Cambuur.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek remains part of the squad despite injury having stopped him from playing a single competitive fixture this season.

The 24-year-old suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon during Chelsea’s post-season friendly against MLS side New England Revolution in May.

He has since had successful surgery and played an hour of a behind-closed-doors match against Brentford B on Tuesday.

Christian Pulisic is also retained in Chelsea’s squad to face the German champions.

The American winger suffered a training injury shortly before the club’s FA Cup victory over Nottingham Forest and has been absent since.
