Jack Grealish responds to sentencing for fan who racially abused Tammy Abraham » Chelsea News

Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish built up a good relationship on and off the pitch with Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham last season, whilst the pair played together at Villa.

Abraham of course came back to Stamford Bridge, and Grealish is lighting up the league with some fine performances for Villa.

Grealish felt it necessary to speak up on the sentencing that a Wolves supporters has received yesterday for making monkey gestures directed at his good friend Abraham, and fair play to him. Nobody can argue his point here.

But the guy who got his 🍆 out get’s a lifetime ban 🤨🧐

Grealish is referring to an incident where a Newcastle United supporter received a lifetime ban this week after revealing his genitalia in the stadium in full view of everyone, everything, and the TV cameras!

That’s messed up since we didn’t see anything because of the cold night (hopefully 😅) #WeWillRememberYouPenicopter https://t.co/QDhO2Gzsly

Grealish is absolutely right to highlight this. Both situations are entirely unacceptable, but the fact that the racial incident is deemed to get less punishment, is a massive part of the problem of racism still being rife in the game, and in the world.
