Chelsea have reportedly entered the race to land Manchester United transfer target Lautaro Martinez.
The 22-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough season at Inter Milan, bagging himself 16 goals so far.
And his performances alongside Romelu Lukaku for Antonio Conte’s side has led to him being linked with several of Europe’s big hitters.
Martinez has a €111million (£94m) release clause in his current deal at the San Siro, however.
Barcelona have been strongly linked with moves for the forward and it is believed that the Nou Camp would be his preferred destination.
Manchester United have also been rumoured to be interested as they eye attacking reinforcements, but Chelsea have also joined the race, according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato .
Frank Lampard is desperate to bring in a new forward, with Martinez seen as an alternative to Lyon’s Moussa Dembele.
They claim that the Blues are willing to offer Conte’s side one of Emerson Palmieri or Marcos Alonso, with Inter known to be a fan of the Spanish left-back.

Martinez fits the profile of the player Solskjaer is now targeting: young players with areas to grow and develop.
The player recently spoke of his future at Inter, where he conceded that even though he’s a target of many clubs, he is in no rush to leave.
