Chelsea’s summer transfer shortlist: The players Frank Lampard is looking at in squad rebuild

With just thirteen Premier League games to go until the end of the season, Chelsea are still firmly in the hunt for Champions League qualification.

They currently occupy fourth spot ahead of Tottenham and despite failing to add a much-needed striker to their ranks during January’s transfer window, Frank Lampard will be hoping that his squad has got enough to secure a top four finish.

While the former Derby County boss has made a solid enough start to life at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea have been far from perfect this campaign having already lost eight games.

Lampard will surely be looking to improve his squad before the start of next season and reportedly has been given a £150million war chest by owner Roman Abramovich.

Starsport looks at which players the Blues could turn to in the summer transfer window as Lampard aims to build on his first season in charge.

19-year-old Sancho is quickly establishing himself as one of the Bundesliga’s most exciting players.

Since joining Borussia Dortmund from Manchester City in 2017 the London native has made 68 goal contributions in 83 appearances, scoring 29 times and creating another 39 goals, and is helping keep Dortmund in the Bundesliga title race as they sit just three points behind leaders Bayern Munich.

Chelsea have been linked with a move for the winger throughout the season and their interest is said to be real.

The Sun reports that the Blues will go head-to-head with Manchester United for his services next year, but Sancho will not be available for anything less than £100m.
