Latest Chelsea transfer news: Sancho boost, Cavani latest, Blues tipped to make Jimenez move

After a run of three games without a win in the Premier League, the winter break may just have arrived at the ideal time for Chelsea and head coach Frank Lampard.

The Blues signed off for the inaugural winter break last Saturday with a 2-2 draw against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium, leaving the Blues just four points clear in the final Champions League place, following Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-0 win over Manchester City.

Chelsea will resume their campaign next Monday evening when they welcome Manchester United to Stamford Bridge, a fixture that will see Lampard looking to inflict revenge on the Red Devils after losing his first game as Blues boss at Old Trafford back in August 4-0.

But with over a week to go until that game, this period of time may well just present the ideal opportunity for Lampard to piece together a plan of action for the summer transfer window, with the Blues head coach still waiting to make his first signing since taking over the reins of the West London club last summer.

Here, we round-up the day’s very latest Chelsea transfer news.

Blues receive Sancho boost

Chelsea may have been handed a major boost in their hopes of signing Borussia Dortmund and England star Jadon Sancho this summer, say the Daily Express.

The report claims that Liverpool, who have been a big rival of Chelsea’s in recent years, will not be making a move for the 19-year-old in the summer, meaning that is one less rival that the Blues will have to watch out for when plotting a move for the teenage sensation.

Dortmund are expected to demand around £100million for the winger and Liverpool are not prepared to spend such a huge figure to land him.
