Scott McTominay is line to return for Manchester United against Chelsea.
The Scotland international along with fellow midfielder Paul Pogba haven’t kicked a ball in anger in 2020 and have been considered doubtful for the big Premier League game at Stamford Bridge a week on Monday.
It appeared that the game in west London would come too soon for the pair as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed earlier in the week that neither would be travelling to Spain for the Red Devils’ warm-weather training camp.

“They’ll have a week or so off and we’ve got more days [rest] because we’re playing Chelsea on the Monday,” Solskjaer said, as per the Manchester Evening News.
“So we’ll get together on the Saturday and we’ll have a good camp, working on different things.
“Of course, we’ve got a few new players, hopefully we can integrate them into the squad.”
However, in a massive boost for United, Solskjaer has revealed that McTominay will now be heading to Spain along with defender Axel Tuanzebe.
“Scotty has done better in his recovery than we thought, so we will take him with us,” Solskjaer told MUTV.
“Hopefully he can join in the training sessions and Axel as well, he’ll join in, so that’s two positives and it’s a good chance for them to use this time with the players.”
Although, there will be no Pogba or, as expected, Marcus Rashford for the trip to Spain.
“Marcus and Paul are not ready yet to join in the training,” the Norwegian added. “Lee Grant unfortunately has had an injury, so he will require surgery, so he will be out for two or three months, so hopefully he’ll get back before the end of the season.”
Just six points separate the two teams in the table and the onus is on the Red Devils to win the game in order to reignite their top-four bid which has stuttered since the turn of the year.
