Ajax head coach Erik Ten Hag has given an update on Chelsea’s bid to sign Hakim Ziyech in the summer.
A deal worth £38million is said to be close to agreed between the two clubs.
The 26-year-old has reportedly agreed to personal terms on a potential transfer, and a deal could be sealed within the next week if some reports are to be believed.
Ziyech would likely become Frank Lampard’s first permanent transfer as Chelsea manager after a number of players were linked to Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window.

Despite previous links to Arsenal and Tottenham among others, Ziyech’s move to West London is set to go ahead, and Ajax boss Erik Ten Hag has discussed the deal.
“Ziyech to Chelsea? A transfer was coming, we expected it to happen,” Ten Hag told Fox.
“And I actually expected this one or two years earlier. And each time it was: ‘Wow, he stayed again’.
“We are just happy that we will still have him until the end of the season.”
Ziyech has already made 12 assists this season in the Eredivisie, and played a starring role in Ajax’s 4-4 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge earlier in the season.
The Blues have also been linked with a move for Ajax keeper Andre Onana, with Kepa Arrizabalaga’s future less than certain following a poor run of form this season.
