Chelsea in the last few years have had some really impressive names out on loan, usually as a result of failed transfers.
A lot of money will be spent on someone like Danny Drinkwater, they’ll be given a year to prove themselves, and then the club very quickly ushers them out of the back door on loan.
That’s exactly what happened with Tiemoue Bakayoko, who was sent to AC Milan straight after his one catastrophic season at Stamford Bridge.
Since then he’s subsequently been sent to Monaco, but reports in CalcioMercato today say Milan are now interested in bringing him back.
We’ve got no doubt he would like the idea of that. Whether the Rossoneri feel the same way isn’t clear. If it doesn’t work out, and Monaco don’t take up their purchase option at the end of this season to bring him in permanently, it will be right back to square one for Baka and for Chelsea.
