Eredivisie side Ajax have announced that Hakim Ziyech will leave the Amsterdam side at the end of the season to seal a move to Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
News of the Blues move for the Morocco international first broke on Wednesday, with Chelsea having an agreement in place to bring the creative star to the Premier League.
And Chelsea fans did not have to wait too long for the transfer saga to come to an end, as Ajax confirmed on Thursday that the transfer is set to take place.
In a social media post, the Dutch side said: “138 days of magic left. Let’s enjoy every single touch…”
The post was accompanied by a brief comment through a link, which read: “Ajax and Chelsea have reached an agreement for the transfer of Hakim Ziyech. The player will join the Premier League club on July 1st 2020 and will finish the season in Amsterdam.”
Ziyech has enjoyed a spectacular season with Ajax again this season, scoring six goals and contributing 12 assists in 18 Eredivisie matches, along with three goals in the Champions League.
Ajax reached the semi-finals of Europe’s elite competition last season but finished third in their group this term and kick off their exploits in the Europa League knockout stages next week against Getafe.
