Chelsea fans think Conor Gallagher is the “new Frank Lampard” after club legend Claude Makelele game his assessment of the youngster.
The Blues youngster grew up at Cobham, playing for the club at every level before being sent out on loan to Charlton Athletic this season.
And the 20-year-old made a big impact, scoring a stunning goal as he grabbed six in 26 appearances.
After being called back in January, Gallagher was quickly sent on loan to Swansea.
And footage has now emerged of Makelele, who won two Premier League titles with Chelsea and is now a youth coach at Stamford Bridge, gave his assessment of the youngster.
Speaking in a documentary about the Englishman, the 46-year-old said: “We check his whole game on video.
“He has a lot of qualities.
“Physically, technical, you can see a lot of progress in just six months.
“He is becoming a leader in the starting team.”

Charlton boss Lee Bowyer also added his praise for the young Chelsea talent.
“If you’re young, can play, can score goals and look after yourself, that’s the all-round midfielder,” he added.
“Chelsea have done a great job in bringing this kid through.
“Where he is now at 19 years old is way above where he should be.”

And the Blues faithful were delighted to see the youngster’s progress.
“The future is bright,” one supporter said.
