Chelsea have started their summer transfer business early after sealing a deal for Ajax midfielder Hakim Ziyech.

The Blues have agreed an initial fee of £33.4million and the Moroccan international will arrive at Stamford Bridge in July.

Ziyech adds depth to Frank Lampard’s attacking options, but the Chelsea boss will be hoping to add further names at the end of the season, with a reported transfer kitty of £150million to spend.

The west Londoners have been linked with a host of players in a variety of positions, including a new goalkeeper to replace club record signing Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Nick Pope

The Burnley goalkeeper is being watched by a number of clubs and if Kepa’s struggles continue entering the business stage of the campaign then Chelsea would consider signing another goalkeeper capable of being first choice.

Willy Caballero is out of contract in the summer but is yet to confirm if he will be retiring or not, meaning Chelsea are likely to sign a new keeper. But Pope is only going to sign if he is challenging to be the No1.

Andre Onana

A similar stance to Pope, although the Ajax keeper has previously spoken of his desire to play in the Premier League. The Hakim Ziyech transfer throws a curve ball into the mix, though.
