Chelsea target Carlos Perez has signed a new contract with Valencia, presumably ending our interest in him for now.
The midfielder’s deal was running out this June, and Marca write that Chelsea, along with Everton, have been watching the youngster with an interest in picking him up for free.
This new deal rules out a free transfer, but if he continues playing and developing as he has been there’s no doubt we will come back ready to pay money for him.
A creative, two footed midfielder who has been impressing throughout the youth team categories, he’s now on 19 and on the verge of breaking into the first team.
His new deal has clauses in it related to the number of games he will play with Los Che, hopefully meaning we can swoop in at some point in the future when he has developed further with some La Liga appearances under his belt.
