Ex-Man Utd man tells Jadon Sancho what’s key to his transfer decision amid Chelsea links

Former Tottenham and Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov has told Jadon Sancho to decide his next transfer carefully with game time taking precedence for the young player.

The 19-year-old has been heavily linked with a summer move away from Borussia Dortmund and is bound to have no lack of options from both the Premier League and around Europe.

Chelsea and Manchester United are two clubs that are said to be interested in the England man, but Berbatov said that the teenager must choose his next destination wisely.

“Jadon Sancho has announced that he is going to be leaving Dortmund, which came as a surprise to me. I think he is really developing well in Germany and he is still very young. The progress he has made over there has been unbelievable and hopefully he has his reasons for deciding to leave. His agent, family and people around him can give him advice but where he goes now is anyone’s guess,” he told Betfair.

“For me, he needs to play, he needs to continue his development and that’s why I’m surprised he wants to go because Dortmund gave him that opportunity as a player. He is still far away from a complete player, he is so young, so wherever he goes I hope he gets minutes so that he can play and continue his development and show how good he is.”

Although the former Manchester United man is worried about the competition in the Red Devils’ squad.
