5 issues Chelsea and Frank Lampard must solve for Spurs clash after Manchester United defeat

Chelsea’s place inside the Premier League’s top four is now massively in the balance after their 2-0 defeat to Manchester United on Monday night.

The Blues host Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon, and a defeat for Frank Lampard’s side would see them be leapfrogged by Jose Mourinho’s team.

The winter break has not fixed a lot of the problems facing the Blues this season, and they have now suffered nine Premier League defeats, the most out of the top eight.

It’s a huge game on Saturday, the Blues needing to get back to winning ways. But what are the issues that Lampard is going to have to fix in training this week?

Sorting the set pieces issue

It seems like all season that Chelsea have looked suspect from set pieces, and again it came back to haunt them against Manchester United

Antonio Rudiger was caught flat footed from a corner to leave Harry Maguire able to head home.

Every time the ball has come into the box from the air, the Blues have looked likely to concede and it really needs to change.

Spurs might not have the massive aerial threat, however Chelsea really need to start looking more solid.
