Chelsea ahead of Man Utd in race to secure Jadon Sancho summer transfer

Chelsea are reportedly ahead of Manchester United in a transfer race for Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho.

Sancho has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League this summer with United, the Blues and Liverpool among the clubs believed to be interested.

It’s likely to take a huge fee to lure Sancho to England with the 19-year-old having bagged 14 goals and 13 assists in the Bundesliga this season.

However French outlet L’Equipe are reporting that Chelsea will attempt to sign Sancho this summer with the Blues “most advanced” when it comes to winning the race.

Chelsea have not made any signings during the past two transfer windows having been given a transfer ban ahead of last summer.

The ban was halved allowing Frank Lampard to make signings in January, however the boss was left frustrated at being unable to bring any new players in.

Chelsea have already secured one signing for this summer though with a deal reached with Ajax for Hakim Ziyech.

Chelsea could be ahead of their rivals as when it comes to Sancho as they sit in fourth in the Premier League, currently qualifying for the Champions League.
