Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has hit out at VAR and the officials after Harry Maguire escaped a red card on Monday night.
The Blues have taken a huge hit in the top four race after losing to rivals Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men have moved within three points of a Champions League spot while Tottenham sit one behind.
Anthony Martial and Maguire got on the scoresheet in either half but the latter can count himself somewhat lucky to stay on the pitch.
After getting tangled with Michy Batshuayi and tumbling over in front of the manager’s dugout, Maguire appeared to plant a kick on the striker’s groin.
However, VAR ruled that no infringement had occured, much to Lampard’s anger.
He said: “I’ve seen it again [the possible Harry Maguire red card] and VAR is there for that and they didn’t get it right.
“It is just the wrong decision. That is what it was brought in for.
“It is very confusing. I think everyone I have spoken to has said it.”
It was not the only tough decision Chelsea had to stomach after Kurt Zouma had grabbed what he thought was the equaliser in the second half.

But VAR ruled that there was a foul in the build-up after a push from Cesar Azpilicueta.
“Azpilicueta gets a shove in the back – it’s not clear, it’s not obvious, Azpi has been pushed in the back,” Lampard added.
Nevertheless, the Englishman was also furious with his own team for conceding defeat so easily.
Chelsea had 17 shots but only one was on target whereas United had three, scoring two of them.

“Lots of shots on goal and around goal. It isn’t enough goals from the middle or wide areas.
