Chelsea have one trick up their sleeve that should provide some boost in morale after a dismal night.
The Blues took a massive blow in the top four battle after losing to Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.
The visitors were somewhat fortunate not to lose their captain Harry Maguire early on after TV replays showed him kicking Michy Batshuayi in the groin.
VAR ruled there was no infringement, however.
Anthony Martial scored on the cusp of half-time before the former Leicester defender headed home for the second.
It leaves the Blues clinging to fourth place, one point behind Tottenham- who they face next in the Premier League.
The result will no doubt leave Chelsea demoralised.
But over the winter break the club have been working hard to bring back Ruben Loftus-Cheek from injury.
The absence of the imposing midfielder has been a big blow for Frank Lampard over the season.
The power he possesses as well as fantastic dribbling ability has been sorely missed in the team.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been back in training at Chelsea
But his recovery has stepped up and he has been taking part in first-team training.
However, he is lacking matchday fitness and basically needs a ‘pre-season’ before talk of him returning to the starting XI can be mentioned.
At the age of 24, Loftus-Cheek must surely be eyeing a starting spot.
Frank Lampard could do with Ruben Loftus-Cheek in his squad
Under Lampard’s management, that would surely be the case – in a side that is clearly lacking game-changers.
For all of Chelsea’s gusto against United, they only had one shot on target.
That comes against 17 shots in total, with the likes of Batshuayi, Willian and Mason Mount guilty of profligacy.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, on the other hand, was given Bruno Fernandes in a £68m deal from Sporting to help boost his squad.
