Chelsea star Emerson at centre of transfer battle between Juventus and Inter Milan

Juventus and Inter Milan are set to go head-to-head for Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri’s signature this summer.

Emerson, 25, has spent two years at Stamford Bridge, joining the Blues in a £24m switch from Roma back in January 2018.

The Italy international became a key player under Maurizio Sarri last season, racking up 27 appearances in all competitions and playing a crucial part in Chelsea’s Europa League triumph.

According to reports in Italy, Juve boss Sarri is now looking to reunite with Emerson in Turin at the end of the season.

But Inter manager Antonio Conte, who brought Emerson to Chelsea, is also interested in signing the player again in the summer transfer window.

Emerson’s agent, Luis Fernando Garcia, has confirmed both Italian clubs are looking to get their hands on him this summer.

“We know very well about Juventus’ interest but also about Inter,” Garcia said.

“So far there has been no talk of a transfer with Chelsea, nor has there been any official offer.

“I believe that until May there will be no official offers from the two clubs. In the summer we will decide what to do.”

Emerson still has over two years remaining on his current Chelsea contract, meaning he will come at a price for any potential suitors.
