Michael Owen calls Premier League results this weekend – including Man Utd vs Watford

Manchester United will drop points at home to Watford, neighbours Manchester City will get the job done at Leicester while Chelsea will win the weekend’s heavyweight clash against Tottenham.

They are Michael Owen’s weekend predictions as the former Liverpool forward casts his eye over this weekend’s Premier League action.

United are looking to back up their impressive win at Stamford Bridge on Monday night but have been blighted by inconsistencies this season and may find a pragmatic Watford side a difficult opponent.

He told BetVictor: “Manchester United were outstanding at Stamford Bridge on Monday, but they face a tricky game in Bruges in the Europa League on Thursday, and I believe relegation-threatened Watford will gain a valuable point on Sunday.

“It will be interesting to see if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer perseveres with the back three he deployed at Chelsea, where Eric Bailly made a very impressive return to the starting XI.”

Regardless of their result Solskjaer knows at least one of his rivals will drop points in west London as Frank Lampard and Jose Mourinho square off.

Owen reckons the Special One will guide Tottenham to the Champions League, but doesn’t see them winning at Stamford Bridge.
