What Frank Lampard has done at Chelsea to impress former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger

Legendary Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has praised Frank Lampard’s management of Chelsea, especially during the club’s difficult sequence of results.

The Blues secured a vital win for their top-four hopes against Tottenham at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, bouncing back from defeat to Manchester United last time out.

Chelsea’s dip in form has allowed rival clubs to narrow the gap in the hunt for Champions League football but Wenger has praised Lampard for sticking to his guns during this period.

As he explained, the former Gunners boss believes that the best way to assess a manager is how they deal with poor results, while also praising his style of play.

“I feel like he has done well overall, when he had bad results he kept calm, kept the way of playing and I think you judge a manager when he starts with how he deals with disappointment,” he told BeIN Sports.

“Overall, he kept his way and it’s quite encouraging. I like his style of play, I like watching it. He makes some tough decisions, which you may not always agree with, but he has a way to conduct and he sticks to it.

“He shows strong character and that’s what’s needed when you work at a big club.”
