Revenge for 2012 or Chelsea have the upper-hand at Stamford Bridge?
The hosts welcome German champions Bayern Munich to Stamford Bridge for the first since their last meeting – the 2012 Champions League final.
After getting one over their opponents at their own home ground, Chelsea will want to make sure history does not repeat itself and they grind out a result to take with them to the second-leg at the Allianz Arena.
With Christian Pulisic, N’Golo Kante and Callum Hudson-Odoi all sidelined, head coach Frank Lampard will be looking to make sure his side will restrict his side’s opponents attacking threat while taking risk when they go on the counter.
Chelsea will be prioritising limiting the services of Robert Lewandowski.
The Polish striker is the competition’s current top goalscorer with 10 goals this season – the first time he has reached double figures since joining Munich.
However, he has failed to find the net in his last 597 minutes in the knockout stages of the tournament – his longest drought.

Score draw at 2-2 – 11/1 Serge Gnabry to score first – 6/1 Win, lose or draw?
Chelsea will be buoyed after the win over Tottenham on Saturday, and it will prove to the players that they can beat big teams at home. However, Bayern Munich are a different kettle of fish to Spurs and will present far more of a challenge for Frank Lampard and his side. But given that the Blues will be full of confidence after the weekend, I will go for a score draw. Chelsea 2-2 Bayern Munich.
