Andros Townsend has admitted that no-one at Crystal Palace would begrudge Wilfried Zaha a big move.
But the Palace winger insists that he wants his team-mate to stay at the club for a long time to come.
Zaha’s future has been the subject of much speculation in recent transfer windows, with the Ivory Coast international heavily linked with a move away from Palace, amid links with Arsenal, Everton and Chelsea, among others.
Zaha submitted a transfer request last summer after Palace turned down bids from Arsenal and Everton, only for the 27-year-old to end up staying put.

But the speculation over his future has continued, and although no move materialised in January either, the links with a summer move remain.
And Townsend admits that Zaha deserves another chance of a big move, having previously had a disappointing spell at Manchester United before returning to Palace.
“For myself, eventually he will get his big move and nobody at Palace will begrudge him that big move because he deserves it,” Townsend said, speaking on Talksport .

“But hopefully we’ve got his talent for longer than this season.”
Townsend also hailed Zaha’s professionalism and ability to re-focus after not getting a move last summer, with the England international praising his teammate for the way he handled the situation.
“After the window had closed, he moved on,” he said.
“He loves Palace, he is a Palace boy and has been at the club for so many years and made 350 appearances.
“Once the window had closed, he thought ‘right my focus is on Palace and I want to do as well as I can for Palace’.
“That’s the person that he is.”
