A trip to the south coast saw Chelsea take a point from the Vitality Stadium in an up and down game.
The Blues travelled to relegation threatened Bournemouth hoping to take full advantage on Leicester City’s slip up against Norwich on Friday night as they looked to close the gap on third place.
It started well for the Blues as Marcos Alonso put them ahead going into the half-time break.
However, two quick fire goals from Jefferson Lerma and Joshua King after the restart turned the game onto its head with the Cherries taking a 2-1 lead.
That lead would remain until the 85th minute, when Alonso stuck again to give Frank Lampard’s men a point to take away.

The striker was left out of the 2-2 draw with Bournemouth on Saturday, with Lampard delivering a worrying update on the player.
“He went to Barcelona, to have a look at his ankle for some more advice on it. I’ve got no update for you,” he said in his post-match press conference.
“I’m hoping it’s not a long-term injury but I can’t tell you if he’ll be ready for Tuesday or Saturday.”
