Tonight Chelsea and Liverpool meet for the third time across three different competitions this season.

The two teams have already faced off in the Premier League as well as the Super Cup this term, with the Reds coming out on top in both games which includes a 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge.

This is the last chapter of a four-game home run which will shape Frank Lampard’s first season at Blues head coach.

His side lost to Manchester United, but beat Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League, only to suffer a damaging 3-0 loss at the hands of Bayern Munich in a Champions League round of 16 first-leg tie.

Up next is the visit of the runaway Premier League leaders, who are smarting from a 3-0 loss against Watford at the weekend.

Speaking of the Reds, manager Jurgen Klopp delivered some mixed injury news during his pre-match press conference on Monday afternoon.

The good news is that Joe Gomez and James Milner are available once again.

“No new ones [injuries], I think. Joe and Millie are back,” Klopp told reporters . “The others aren’t.”

This means there are three senior Liverpool players who will miss tonight’s FA Cup tie against the Blues.
