Amid the worst midfield crisis that Chelsea have suffered in recent years, there is one bright light.
N’Golo Kante has struggled with injuries all season, while Mateo Kovacic could be out for a while after hobbling off in the first half of the 2-0 Liverpool win.
Meanwhile, Jorginho is suspended for the next two Premier League matches and the Champions League second leg at Bayern Munich.
But in the middle of all the carnage and chaos of Chelsea’s injury problems, Billy Gilmour stood as the symbol of calm.

With Chelsea fans worried about the upcoming games, Gilmour’s performance against Liverpool said ‘don’t worry, lads. I’ve got this’.
Liverpool have played a lot of youngsters in the FA Cup this season, but at the base of their midfield Fabinho took his usual role.
Seen as one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League right now, Fabinho was made to look almost foolish by the 18-year-old at times.
Gilmour’s two first team starts this season had come against Manchester United and Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup.
But Liverpool is a different animal altogether this season, and rightly they are cruising to the Premier league title.
So for Gilmour to not just look comfortable, but for him to be the best player on the pitch, was a special achievement.
His willingness to collect the ball at the edge of his own box, to go past people, to crunch a few tackles and to track back were all sublime.
And the cherry on top of the cake was the turn which left Fabinho for dead and begging for the final whistle to come.
But of course, the question now will be what happens to Gilmour and his place in the squad?
