Here are your Chelsea morning headlines for Wednesday, 4th March:
Cesc Fabregas on the four qualities that Billy Gilmour showed
Former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has hailed Billy Gilmour’s role in the Blues’ 2-0 win over Liverpool in the FA Cup fifth round.
Goals from Willian and Ross Barkley sealed Chelsea’s place in the quarter-finals, but it was 18-year-old Gilmour who was named man-of-the-match for his display against Jurgen Klopp’s side, after producing a performance of skill and composure on the ball which belied his teenage years.
Speaking before the game, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard had said it was a “comfortable choice” to name the youngster in his team.
But he was proved right as Gilmour outshone his more senior midfield teammates and helped Chelsea pick up the deserved win over the Premier League leaders.
