Giroud was set to leave the club in January in search of more regular football in order to help his Euro 2020 chances of getting in to the France squad.

It was a constant rumour all through the month right up until the last day and he was fully expected to leave. However, this did not transpire and Giroud has since been rewarded with some regular game time in the absence of Tammy Abraham.

He has certainly taken his opportunity as well, being a key player in some decent results recently for Chelsea.

Now Frank Lampard has insisted that if Giroud wants to stay, then the decision is up to him, claiming that his destiny is in his own hands.
