Chelsea started today’s game with Everton with an 18 year old in their team in the form of Billy Gilmour, and the youngster impressed everyone by winning the man of the match award.

By the end of the game he had been joined by two more teenagers, other colleagues from the youth teams that Gilmour was a regular in until recently making the step up.

On Twitter, it was pointed out that this triggered a new statistical record for Chelsea.

It was an interesting comparison to the veteran front 3, all out of contract in the summer, who played such an influential role in the 4-0 win over Everton.

The revolution Frank Lampard has started is only getting stronger, and days like this where we pick up a big lead make it much easier for him to give debuts to these youngsters.
