Garth Crooks has hailed the “emphatic” performance of Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount after the 4-0 victory against Everton.
The Blues thrashed the Toffees at Stamford Bridge, with goals from Mount, Pedro, Willian and Olivier Giroud helping Frank Lampard’s men to a big victory against Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
It strengthened Chelsea’s position in the race for the top four, with the Blues currently sitting in fourth spot, three points ahead of Manchester United in fifth and five points ahead of Wolves and Sheffield United, who sit sixth and seventh respectively.
But while Chelsea have been given plenty of plaudits after the performance, with teenage midfielder Billy Gilmour hailed by fans and pundits alike after another man-of-the-match display, it was one of his team-mates who was hailed by BBC pundit Crooks.

The former Tottenham forward named Mount in his team of the week for the BBC pundit, with Crooks full of praise for the 21-year-old.
“This was a disappointing performance from Everton and a sure indication to Carlo Ancelotti of the players capable of taking the club to the next level,” he said, in his weekly feature for the BBC website .
“One player who is destined for the highest level is Mason Mount. This Chelsea starlet has been groomed for the top by Frank Lampard and his performance against a poor Everton was emphatic.
“He made his intentions clear in the opening exchanges of the match when he forced a first-class save from Jordan Pickford. However his second effort minutes later was unstoppable.
“There is a lot of hype surrounding the performance of young Billy Gilmour, who is extremely promising, but Mount is turning promise into goals and victories.#”
