The spread of coronavirus in Europe has led to widespread disruption and football is being heavily affected as a result.
In the UK, the biggest single-day rise of confirmed cases was witnessed on Sunday and the third death due to the virus also occurred, ahead of the government’s COBRA meeting on Monday.
Discussions are due to be held as to whether the government moves to the next stage of it’s plan, the delay phase, which could lead to social distancing measures being implemented – which may include schools being closed, people being asked to work from home and mass gatherings being banned.
In Europe, similar action has also been taken, with France banning gatherings of over 1,000 people and Italy putting the northern section of the country under quarantine, as they currently battle the highest numbers of cases outside of China.
