Latest Chelsea transfer rumours: £50m ace tipped to replace Kepa, Blues to renew Bailey interest

The future of the remainder of the 2019/20 Premier League campaign was plunged into doubt on Friday with the news that all fixtures in England’s top four tiers have been postponed until April 3 at the earliest.

This decision has been made due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, which is showing very little sign of getting better any time soon.

The virus is currently causing havoc and chaos across the globe and the Premier League has been hit as a result of that.

But even though it feels incredibly odd not to have any football matches taking place at this time of the year, the correct decision has been made, with the health of the UK’s population having to come first.

Though this situation is far from ideal, this period of no on-field action taking place could hand Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard, who has not been able to put his own stamp on the squad at Stamford Bridge since his arrival last summer, the chance to try and set out some plans for the upcoming summer transfer window, as he looks to build on the signing of Hakim Ziyech, who will arrive from Ajax this summer.

£85m Bailey transfer raid

Chelsea are prepared to splash out £85million on Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey this summer, report the Express.

After going two transfer windows without a signing at Stamford Bridge, Lampard will be ready to splash the cash this summer as he looks to try and bolster his squad.

And one who is understood to be on his radar is Jamaican international Bailey, who has scored seven times in all competitions for the German outfit this term.

But Chelsea are not alone in chasing the signature of the 22-year-old, as Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are also keen on signing the flying winger.
