Chelsea’s £85m transfer raid, Man United defender set for exit – Latest Premier League rumours

The future of the remainder of the 2019/20 Premier League season was thrown into major doubt on Friday with the news that all competitive action in English football was to be halted until April 3 at the very earliest in a bid to combat the spread of coronavirus.

Following the news that Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta, who has since confirmed he is on the mend, and Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi had both contracted the virus, the Premier League were left with no choice but to temporarily suspend action in England’s top-flight.

The same measures have been carried out across the EFL and Women’s Super League (WSL).

Now that the brakes have been put on on-field matters, transfer speculation is most likely to be the main topic of conversation, at least for the next few weeks anyway.

And with that in mind, here is a round-up of some of the very latest rumours in the Premier League.

Clarets not under McNeil pressure

Burnley are not under any sort of financial pressure to sell winger Dwight McNeil this summer, according to Goal .

The left-sided winger, who has been very impressive for the Turf Moor club this season, is attracting interest from some of the sport’s biggest clubs, including Manchester United, who McNeil started his youth career with.

But even though Burnley are not under pressure to offload the 20-year-old, Clarets manager Sean Dyche has confirmed that they may be forced into selling him if a club comes forward with a transfer “war chest.”
