AC Milan want €50m for their goalkeeper Gialuigi Donnarumma, according to reports from SempreMilan.
Having broken into their team as a teenager, Donnarumma is still just 21 but with an absolute load of senior starts to his name. While no longer considered the prodigy he once was, he’s still regularly named among the best in his position worldwide.
His contract expires in a year’s time, meaning that his club are being forced to consider selling when they otherwise might not. The fact he can leave for free in just over a year is also depressing his value hence the reasonable €50m valuation.
We have no idea what club football will look like in a couple of months, but if its all back to normal, this looks increasingly like a feasible option. Perhaps there will only be 8 months or so left on his deal at that point, and we can really drive for a bargain.
